GAT General
NTS (National Testing Service)
The Graduate Assessment Test (GAT™ General) is administered by the National Testing Service (NTS). Regulated by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), a qualifying GAT score is mandatory for admission into MS, MPhil, and postgraduate degree programs across more than 150 public and private universities throughout Pakistan.
HAT
HEC / ETC (Education Testing Council)
The Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) is organized directly by HEC’s in-house testing body, the Education Testing Council (ETC). It serves as the primary national testing instrument for HEC-funded indigenous and foreign scholarship schemes (including the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor) and postgraduate MS/MPhil admissions at participating Pakistani universities.
PMP
PMI (Project Management Institute)
The Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification, conferred by the Project Management Institute (PMI) USA, is globally recognized as the definitive benchmark for project leaders across engineering, software development, energy, defense, and healthcare. Spanning predictive, agile, and hybrid methodologies, the exam tests real-world situational leadership and governance.
NUST NET
NUST (National University of Sciences & Technology)
The NUST Entry Test (NET) is conducted exclusively by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) for admission to all undergraduate programs across its campuses (H-12 Islamabad, CEME Rawalpindi, CAE Risalpur, PNEC Karachi). It tests high school pre-engineering, computing, pre-medical, and business reasoning across four sequential series each year.
ECAT
UET (University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore)
The Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) is administered annually by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. It is the compulsory centralized entrance test for admission to undergraduate BSc Engineering and Technology programs across all public and participating private sector engineering institutions in Punjab.
MDCAT
PMDC (Pakistan Medical & Dental Council)
The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is the mandatory national standardized test conducted under the statutory oversight of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). It is compulsory for admission into all public and private sector medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) colleges across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
NAT
NTS (National Testing Service)
The National Aptitude Test (NAT™) is administered by the National Testing Service (NTS). A single valid NAT score grants admission eligibility across dozens of NTS-associated degree awarding universities and higher education institutions in Pakistan for undergraduate BS programs.
ISSB
Inter Services Selection Board (Pakistan Armed Forces)
The Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) is the official selection board responsible for assessing candidates for commission as officers in the armed forces of Pakistan (Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, and Pakistan Air Force). The initial screening test evaluates verbal, non-verbal intelligence, and academic knowledge prior to the 4-day board evaluation at Kohat, Gujranwala, Malir, or Quetta.
GRE General
ETS (Educational Testing Service)
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE®) General Test, conducted by ETS, is the premier standardized test accepted for graduate, business (MBA), and law admissions at thousands of universities worldwide, as well as prestigious Pakistani institutions such as LUMS, NUST, and IBA Karachi. In late 2023, ETS introduced the shorter GRE (under 2 hours).
CSS MPT
FPSC (Federal Public Service Commission)
The MCQ-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) is the mandatory qualifying gate conducted annually by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). Candidates must clear the MPT with at least 33% marks to be eligible to appear in the main CSS Written Competitive Examination for recruitment into Pakistan’s prestigious 12 occupational civil services (PAS, PSP, FSP, IRS, Customs, etc.).
PMS Screening Test
PPSC / Provincial Public Service Commissions
The Provincial Management Service (PMS) Screening Test is conducted independently by provincial public service commissions—most notably the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC)—to screen applicants for lucrative BPS-17 administrative posts (Assistant Commissioners, Section Officers).
